SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO ADD YOUR HOLIDAY HOME TO THE CDP EXCHANGE PROGRAMME.

After you have decided to join the EXCHANGE PROGRAMME one of the first things you should do is to compile a full and honest description of your Holiday Home which should give details of:

The Interior:
The make, model, dimensions and year of manufacture of your home.
The number of bedrooms and what they consist of.
The Lounge area. seating arrangement, any TV’s, DVD’s, music systems, fires etc.
Dining Area and what it contains.
Kitchen and what appliances are installed.
Bathroom/s and what they consist of.
Obviously when you are describing the rooms if there are things like co-ordinated curtains, linen provided or any descriptive text that you feel is justified then please use it.
Don’t forget to mention if there is heating or airconditioning.
THE EXTERIOR:
Many holiday homes now have deckings or gardens and you must remember to give details of this and also if there are sun loungers, table & chairs, BBQ’s etc. If there are sea views or any other thing you think may be of interest, then please remember to detail these also.
LOCATION:
Please give details of the site/park on which your home is sited, together with the campsite’s list of rules.
As people may not know it’s location you should give details of the surrounding area, nearest airport, places of interest, golf courses, theme parks, distance to the sea, mountains, the proximity of shopping, restaurants, nightlife, supermarkets, public transport etc.etc

It is most advisable to supply photographs of your home and area as they are truly a magnificent advertising aid.

The more appealing your home looks the more offers of exchange you are likely to receive.

This exciting programme is intended for the use of holiday home users, hopefully worldwide. It is in it’s early stages and the more people that join the more options there are for holiday options. It would be most beneficial if you could spread the word about our EXCHANGE PROGRAMME please help us to help you.
Remember membership is completely free until further notice.
Below we have listed some topics that were raised regarding exchanging and we are sure that after consideration you will find it most beneficial.

F.A.Q’s

Q. How do I know my home is safe?
This is the most asked question. The simple answer is you don’t. However, through our investigations we have found there are only a few instances of damage and no reports of theft. Owners usually return to their homes to find them as they had left it. It is also felt that an exchange is safer than a holiday let, in as much as the people using your home generally have a similar standard to yourselves.

Q. Who pays the bills
Pay your own site fees as normal and agree with the other party, beforehand how you both will handle this situation.

Q. What about insurance?
Generally your insurance policy will cover this aspect, but best to check with your company beforehand.

Q. Who is most successful with exchanging?
It does not matter where your home is sited as it will surely appeal to some as it did with you originally. The most successful people are ones who market their home properly are flexible and proactive in sending enquiries.

Q. What are other homes like?
Searching through our database will give you a good idea of standards and with our suggestions for people listing their homes, we hope these will be found to be appropriate.

Q. What if my home is not as good as the one I am interested in?
If you find something which has an obvious huge difference in value you can always suggest a cash adjustment, however this action would be entirely between the two parties and CDP has no involvement in this course of action.

Q. What if I have pets?
Some exchange people may be happy enough to look after your pet, if you are unable to find an alternative option. Please check this out.

Q. What if my exchange falls through at the last minute?
It is best to take out insurance to recoup the costs.

Q. I own a car, is it best to offer this to the other party?
This is entirely your own decision but obviously the insurance aspect would have to be checked out. It would, however be an added advantage if this could be added as it would save money for the incoming party.

Q. I recently moved. Can I update my listing to show my new details?
Yes, simply login and using your password(given to you on initial registration) enter your new details.
